Hi Rob,
Here's my pipe and dyno data files, I've converted the
Excel spreadsheet graphs to GIF for you to include.
Also there are the data files, txt format for the pipe data, and
csv (comma seperated for spreadsheet loading) for the dyno data.
Also in the files is an image of the RG500 cdi
I made to use in my development.Let me know how it turns out!

Some brief info on my RG500 dyno and pipe data files:
(I'll fill this in some more soon!)
I haven't dyno'd my too-short race pipes yet, after
extending the belly section 30mm. They perform a lot
better, though! Top end doesn't seem down much or at all,
and the dip at ~7500 is gone. There is now a relatively
smooth (if you can call it that!) transition into
the band above 7500.
Bob Truelson's dyno chart is actually two runs, one
with the powervalves open, one closed, spliced together.
I expect it will look different and better when it is
re-done.
My RG has had the following mechanical mods:
Exhaust port raised ~0.5mm? (lip smoothed out).
Head milled down to drop from ~1.3mm min squish
distance to 0.8mm min squish distance.
Two bolts in rear intake countersunk out of the way.
No other port timing changes, etc.
It's just a slightly cleaned up stock one, and has not
been changed over all these runs, except for the pipes
, intake (external and/or airbox pods) and ignition.
The runs between the stock CDI and modified CDI were
done about 60 seconds apart, same bike, same dyno.
(This is 'Pipes w.std ign', violet line, and 'Pipes w.
ign mod2, thin green line)
I have a switch on my modified CDI to turn the
re-curving on, or leave as stock, so I only had to
flick the switch, and re-run.
The difference between the 'Stock RG No Mods' and
'Std. with pods +minor porting' mostly shows the benefits
of a pod kit, whether it be external pods, or the
internal airbox pod replacement kit.
The 'Pods in airbox w. ign mod2' (red line) shows my bike
as it is now (before the extended pipe bellies).
Anyway, sorry about this brief description, I will fill it
in some more as soon as I can...
Marc
NOTE: Swarbrick, New Nikon, New Stock, Foran and my pipes have complete
data.
Other pipes only have major start/finish info, and made-up ID/OD info
just for comparison purposes
Other pipes do have multi-stage cones that are not shown on graphs
Tuned length is approximately from piston face to 'centre' of baffle
cone (56mm added in for port length)
There are 'errors' in the measurement of each section, as the
measurement was done on the cones' metal face,
and not the true, virtual centre line inside the cone. So the cones
with higher taper are shorter than the measurements
here. Any parallel sections are ok, though.
16 August 1996: added 30mm to belly length of my too short 'race' pipes,
changed file to suit.
